Associate of Business

 

Every organization needs people who are skilled in accounting. The day-to-day work of accountants ranges from preparing budgets and financial records to completing tax returns and requires attention to detail and the ability to analyze, compare, and interpret financial data. Accountants are also instrumental in helping organizations grow by providing management with the financial information needed for planning, decision making, and private, civic, and governmental entities.

Intended Student Learning Outcomes of College of Business

  1. Applying critical thinking skills for problem solving and decision making (aligned: MBA PO1, BBA PO1, AB PO1).
  2. Engage in a collaborative environment to produce desired outcomes (aligned: MBA PO2, BBA PO2, AB PO2).
  3. Deliver effective and professional oral and written communications using a variety of delivery venues (aligned: MBA PO3, BBA PO3, AB PO3).
  4. Understand and apply the disciplinary knowledge, theories, and competencies associated to core business functions and selected program of study (aligned: MBA PO4, BBA PO4, BBA PO10, AB PO4).

By the end of the program, students will:

  4. Describe the introductory concepts, basic theories, and fundamental practices in the
    principal functional areas of business.
  5. Use data analytical tools to solve problems.
  6. Recognize skills required in planning, organizing, controlling, and leading in a business
    scenario.
  7. Recognize legal, ethical, and cultural issues within a business environment.
  8. Find research sources utilizing reference tools.
